The Jason Institute of Forensic Science, Education and Research (TJIFSER) is a private nonprofit organization based in Sarasota, Florida, dedicated to advancing forensic science through education, research, and professional collaboration.

The Institute was founded by Dr. Ira Titunik, an American forensic dentist, in memory of his son Jason Titunik, who tragically lost his life in a high-speed automobile accident in Connecticut in 2023. In honor of Jason’s memory, the Institute was established to transform profound personal loss into a meaningful contribution to science, education, and public service.

TJIFSER was created with the encouragement and support of distinguished colleagues and internationally respected forensic experts who share a commitment to advancing scientific integrity in forensic investigations. The Institute’s board includes leading figures in forensic science such as Henry Lee, PhD, Michael Baden, MD, Esi Sharon, DMD, Lowell Levine, DDS, and Ira Titunik, DDS.

The mission of the Institute is to provide training, education, research, and professional consultation to scientists, clinicians, and other professionals working in forensic science and criminal justice in the United States and internationally.

As part of its research initiatives, TJIFSER supports the development of forensic laboratory work led by Dr. Esi Sharon and Dr. Ira Titunik at the Hadassah Medical Center and Hospital in Jerusalem, fostering international scientific collaboration and advancing applied forensic research.

The Institute also plans to organize international forensic science symposia, bringing together experts from around the world to share knowledge, discuss emerging technologies, and advance scientific research in forensic investigation. The inaugural TJIFSER International Forensic Science Symposium is planned to be held at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Through its educational initiatives, research programs, and international partnerships, TJIFSER seeks to strengthen the reliability and scientific rigor of forensic science while supporting professionals dedicated to justice, truth, and public service.
